How Do You Fill a Crack in a Door without Using Adhesive?

Problem scenario
You rent an apartment, and your landlord won't fix the crack in the door. You do not want to use adhesive to pull off paint from the door or door frame. There is a little light where bugs can walk in. How should you jam this crack to prevent insects or a draft from coming in?

Possible Solution #1
Without using adhesive the wedges of a draft stopper (cut with regular or heavy duty scissors) can go into the crack. Every time you open the door, you'll have to put it back.

Possible Solution #2
Get cotton balls and a flat head screw driver or some ice pick. Every time you open the door, you'll have to put it back. But if you jam cotton balls into a crack, that may prevent bugs from coming inside.
